Hello Kitty is one of the most iconic figures in the Sanrio franchise. So much so that she’s even one of the biggest icons in our current pop culture. While she’s marketed for young girls, there is no doubt that adults everywhere can’t get enough of her kawaii charm. Countless plushies have been made for the Sanrio franchise, including some of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows. Here are just some of the best Squishmallows dedicated to our adorable cat.

20. Hello Kitty with Boba
Starting strong with the collab with Hot Topic that was released in 2022, we have Hello Kitty with Boba. This collaboration featured two exclusive Sanrio Squishmallows, and then later in 2023, an additional Squishmallow was released, followed by a new Cinnamoroll and My Melody in the summer of 2023. These Squishmallows were available in size 8″. The Hello Kitty with Boba had the classic Hello Kitty holding Boba, which is an extremely trendy drink that is becoming more and more popular.

19. Hello Kitty Unicorn Sweets
The next best Hello Kitty Squishmallow is from the Initial Release, which was released in 2020. The collection featured the Sanrio characters dressed as various sweet treats. It’s honestly way too cute to handle. My Melody is dressed as a watermelon, Tuxedo Sam is an ice cream sundae, and we have Hello Kitty dressed as unicorn sweets. Which, technically, is not a single sweet, but just a sweet with a unicorn horn on her head, the sugary sweets dripping down her head. The base, where her shirt is usually worn, has swirls of icing all in pink. It’s adorable, and one of the best Squishmallows you can find right now.

18. Hello Kitty Sailor
Even though it’s low on the list, the Hello Kitty Sailor is a favorite of mine. This ‘Mallow is part of the Sailor Squad which was released in 2022. There are some adorable characters and designs in this collection, and one of them includes Hello Kitty decked out as a sailor. While she also has one where she’s wearing an adorable swimsuit, this is by far one of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows. With the pastel pink heart sunglasses, the matching pin bow, and the classic blue bottoms with the anchor and ribbon.

18. Hello Kitty Mermaid (2022)
There are two different mermaid Hello Kitty Squishmallows in the various collaborations that Sanrio and Squishmallow have had. One was in 2021 in the Hello Kitty Squad, and the other was in 2022 during the Beach Squad collaboration. The Beach Squad featured various Sanrio characters dressed in Beachwear. The Hello Kitty Squad features 5 Hello Kittys dressed in various beachy-floral attire. The one we’re focusing on is the 2022 one. While the 2021 was adorable, the 2022 version features a more well-thought-out and colorful design. With a pink bow and matching seashell top with a colorful blue bottom and fin, it’s just striking. On the other ear away from her bow are blue and pink seashells. It’s a colorful and eye-catching design that is one of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows.

17. Hello Kitty Floral
Pastels work so well for the Sanrio characters. And the Hello Kitty Squad shows this off. The Hello Kitty Squad was released in 2021 and is a series of ‘Mallows all focusing on Hello Kitty available in sizes 12″ and 20″. From her scuba diving to her being a mermaid, there are a variety of options. The Floral Hello Kitty is one of my favorites, along with the community’s favorite. It features Hello Kitty in a floral print bottom as well as a floral band and a ribbon with a flower in the middle. It’s stunning, and perfect if you’re trying to collect the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows.

15. Hello Kitty Sunglasses
Another option for the Hello Kitty Squad is the Hello Kitty Sunglasses which feature Hello Kitty truly vibing out for the summer. The 2021 launch focused on Hello Kitty enjoying the summer. And there’s nothing more summer than a rainbow shirt and rainbow sunglasses, portraying her as if she was suntanning and enjoying the summer vibes. It’s an adorable option and one of the fan favorites within the community.

14. Hello Kitty Dessert
Not to be confused with the Initial Release, where the Sanrio characters were dressed as food and treats, the Dessert Squad features six Sanrio characters dressed as desserts. These Squishmallows were first spotted in stores around early 2022 and were available in sizes 8″ and 12″. While only Hello Kitty, My Melody, Tuxedo Sam, and Cinnamoroll were available at the time of release, they soon released Pompompurin at a later date. And then after all were out in stores, they released another edition of all of these characters in a size 5″. Hello Kitty Dessert features Hello Kitty as an ice cream cone with a waffle shell bottom and sugar and sprinkles. Her bow is pink and has an adorable strawberry in the middle.

13. Hello Kitty Red Swimsuit
Going back to summer-themed, let’s check out the Pool Squad. Hello Kitty’s favorite season has to be summer, as she’s always dressed for the pool and heat. One of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows includes Hello Kitty in her red swimsuit that comes with an adorable skirt, red heart sunglasses, and a matching bow in her ear. The swimsuit skirt is beyond cute, and there’s nothing better than oversized sunglasses to spruce up your outfit. This set was released in 2023 and comes in the size 8″.

12. Hello Kitty with Strawberry
Another Hot Topic exclusive, we have a chunky Hello Kitty Squishmallow with a Strawberry. She’s adorable and round, rounder than a lot of the others. The strawberry colors match her bottoms and her ribbon, and the green leaves stand out. She’s adorable, and her little paws are too cute. The 2023 release did an amazing job, and this is just yet another example of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows.

11. Hello Kitty Easter Bunny
Do I need to say anything? It’s bad enough that we all obsess over an anthropomorphized cat, but now she’s dressed as a bunny? This is part of the Easter Squad, where four 8″ ‘Mallows were designed specifically for the Easter season, all in pastels and adorable outfits. One of them is Hello Kitty as the Easter Bunny, where she has adorable bunny ears in pink and blue, and in a bunny suit with gingham bottoms featuring amazing pastel colors like yellow, green, blue, and pink.

10. Hello Kitty Strawberry
This unique Hello Kitty Squishmallow was released in November 2023 and was part of the celebration of Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary. The release was exclusive on Squishmallow’s official website, but even though it’s an exclusive, it’s not labeled as a Select Series Squishmallow. This ‘Mallow features a pink Hello Kitty with a strawberry bottom and a matching bow with adorable brown seeds. It’s available in a decent size of 12″, and is one of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows of 2023.

9. Hello Kitty Pineapple
One might imagine the Classic Squad being the first collab release within the Hello Kitty and Squishmallow franchise, however, the initial release was just called the Initial Release and was launched in 2020 and featured eight different designs depicting four different Sanrio characters as various foods. Each character received two different treats, and they are beyond adorable. At the time of release, the characters were available in sizes 8″ and 12″.
Early 2021 saw half the squad receive new 5″ versions from Claires. And then in early 2022, the entire squad, excluding Pompompurin, became available in 20″ at Cosco. The Hello Kitty pineapple is one of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows that you can get, and features a little Kitty dressed as a pineapple. You can see her face, with an adorable orange bow, with a pineapple surrounding her.

8. Hello Kitty Gingerbread
Is there anything better than holiday-themed collections? Not really. And with Christmas being one of the biggest holidays in the year, it only makes sense that there’s a Hello Kitty Christmas-themed Squishmallow collab. In this collection, which was available to order online around September 2023 as a size 8″, you can pick Hello Kitty, decked out as a gingerbread cookie, My Melody, dressed as Santa, or Cinnamoroll, portraying an elf, for the upcoming holiday season. Later in the season, around October 2023, you were able to find them around stores and later were available in a size 10″.

7. Hello Kitty Red
We love classics. There’s nothing better than just having the original in our collection. Thankfully, Squishmallow knew there was never anything wrong with just doing the basics. In their Classic Squad collection, which was released in 2021, Squishmallow’s collab with Sanrio featured several characters, 6 to be exact, in their usual attire. With five different Hello Kitty variants as well as Keroppie and My Melody, fans can now have their classic Sanrio characters showcased in their Squishmallow collection.

6. Hello Kitty Easter Skirt
I can not express enough how much I love the Easter Squad. For a franchise that strives for the kawaii charm, the pastels do wonders for the characters. I can not get enough of this collection. And while we already saw a favorite of mine, the Easter Bunny, we also have to include the Easter Skirt. Dressed in her finest wear, we have Hello Kitty in a pink top with a yellow and pink gingham skirt, the perfect pastel combination for Easter.

5. Hello Kitty Pink Swimsuit
Another personal favorite is the Sailor Squad. While I enjoy the Sailor outfit more than the others in the collection, this is a favorite amongst the community so has to be higher on the list. The Sailor Squad features three characters dressed in a sailor or pirate outfit, as well as an additional Hello Kitty, decked out in her swimsuit. This was released and first spotted at Five Below around mid-July in 2022, but officially released later that same month. These came in only one size and are exclusive to Five Below in the size 6.5″. While there are many swimsuit Hello Kitty Squishmallows, this is by far one of the better ones.

4. Franken Kitty
Halloween is one of the best holidays. Not only can you dress up in adorable costumes, but you can eat all the candy you want! Hello Kitty is also a fan, as the Halloween Squad shows off the Sanrio squad in adorable costumes. This new collection was released at Walgreens in August 2022 in a size 8″. In the late summer of 2023 though, the Halloween versions of Kuromi and Cinnamoroll were released in an additional size of 10″. Franken Kitty was later released in both 8″ and 10″ and is no longer a Walgreens exclusive. Franken Kitty features Hello Kitty as Frankenstein with an adorable pink bow and blue clothing, with stitching above an eye, and is one of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows you can find today.

3. Hello Kitty Pink
I’m a hard believe that you don’t need to change something that isn’t broken. And the Hello Kitty Pink Squishmallow is exactly that meaning. Hello Kitty is seen in both pink and red attire with a matching bow. While we already covered the Red version, the Pink is one that we should also mention. Hello Kitty Pink is the classic version of Hello Kitty, and how she’s seen all over media. This Squishmallow came in the Classic Squad, which was released early to mid-2021 and features the Sanrio characters in their classic attire. From Hello Kitty to Tuxedo Sam, these feature some of the most adorable characters.

2. Hello Kitty Plaid
A personal favorite of mine is the Argyle and Plaid collection, which was released in late spring 2023. This adorable collection features six total characters in unique outfits. They come in both sizes 8″ and 6.5″, the perfect size for cuddling and collecting. Hello Kitty is featured in her pink attire with plaid bottoms and a pink bow. Her friends, like Cinnamoroll, are decked out in a blue argyle sweater, as well as Pompompurin in a tan argyle sweater. This collection is one of my favorites and has one of the best Hello Kitty Squishmallows featured.

1. Hello Kitty Red Sunglasses
The best Hello Kitty Squishmallow is by far the Red Sunglasses Hello Kitty that was released in 2022. The Beach Squad has a total of three characters in their beach attire. The collection started with preorders for the new Pompompurin Squishmallow, and then fans started to see a new Kuromi Squishmallow around GameStop. Soon after, more Squishmallows following the beach theme were released, like the Hello Kitty Mermaid 2022 version that we mentioned. And then finally we had the Hello Kitty in Red Sunglasses in the shapes of hearts, with an adorable bow and red swimsuit. Every squad member was available in the 6.5″ size at Five Below, and 8″ at GameStop. Both Hello Kitty Squishmallows were available in size 11″ at Walgreens and size 14″ on Amazon. To this day, this is the one Hello Kitty Squishmallow that is in high demand, making it the number one spot.
