Currently the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow has captured the gaze of football lovers and fan-girls alike. His quick timing and precision throws allow him to lead the Bengals to victory time-and-time-again. Even though he is out for the rest of the season with an arm injury, he is still coming to the games and supporting his backup quarterback.

Playing college football at LSU after transferring from Ohio State, Burrow led the team to the 2020 College Football National Championship as a senior, where they won the game against Clemson. He achieved record-high numbers in the 2020 season for passing touchdowns, record touchdowns, and passing yards. If those achievements weren’t enough, Burrow also won the Heisman Trophy in 2019, beating out Jalen Hurts by a margin of over 1,000 votes.

In his Bengals career Burrow has managed to make it to both the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl, but he has yet to win a ring. If you enjoy watching Burrow take over the field, add some of these Joe Burrow rookie cards to your collection:

15. Phoenix Rookie Rising Teal #RR1

I love the design of the first Joe Burrow rookie card we have on our list, and it’s not just because the background colors are my own team’s colors (Miami Dolphins). I think the orange and teal play off each other perfectly, and highlight Burrow in the middle of the card. The photo is fun too, since Burrow seems ready to throw the ball to one of his receivers down the field.

14. Select Die-Cut Blue Prizm #46

The die-cut design of the card is interesting on the Panini Select, but I’m not a huge fan of either the photo of Burrow or the design of the background. It seems too plain and chaotic at the same time, with multiple colors spreading across the card in various designs, but there is no depth to them. The thing that saves this card a little for me is the holographic sheen, which I think improves any card that has that detailing on it.

13. Contenders Draft Picks Autographed #101

Credit: eBay

These Joe Burrow rookie cards are fun because they look like ticket stubs, which is why we have two of these designs on our fifteen-card list. This specific Contenders is a Draft Picks version, which shows the college team that the player was a part of before joining the NFL. As mentioned above, Joe Burrow was a part of the LSU Tigers and led them to a championship in 2020. I think the purple detailing in this card elevates the design and makes the yellow pop on the uniform.

12. Gold Standard #101/99

Our next Joe Burrow rookie card switches back to his Bengals uniform, this specific card being the Gold Standard. I enjoy the large gold lines behind Burrow, and I think it gives the card a quality look. Depending on what mint this card is, you can get it for not a terrible amount of money, and it will go quite well in your Bengals shrine.

11. Mosaic #201

The Mosaic #201 Joe Burrow rookie card is next on our list, and I am half-and-half through the design of the card. For one thing, I think the orange and silver background complements Burrow’s jersey and his photo. But, the actual design of the orange and silver is throwing me off a little, especially since there seems to be no rhyme or reason for the pattern. This is another one of those cards you can find pretty cheap, depending on the mint of course.

10. Spectra #136/99

Our top ten choice for Joe Burrow rookie cards is the Spectra #136, which boasts both a cool design and a great picture of Burrow in action. I like the white, black, and red-orange swatches in the background, especially since they complement the Bengals jersey so well. If you want a sharp card that costs a little more money, check out the Spectra.

9. Prizm #307

The base Prizm #307 is our ninth choice for Burrow rookie cards, and I have to say less is more with this design. Even though the frame of the card is all black with silver/white detailing, I think it allows the picture of Burrow to really stand out, because that’s what the focus of the card should be. The stadium in the background is also a nice touch, blurred out enough to not take away from anything else.

8. Origins Rookie Autographs #RAJB

Out of all fifteen cards on this list, I think the Origins Rookie Autographs design is my favorite. This Joe Burrow rookie card has an orange tie-dye design right around Burrow, with only a white background behind him. There doesn’t need to be a lot for a card to look good, and this is true for the Origins. The text is straightforward and really elevates this card to a different level for me. If I were to buy one of these rookie cards, I would choose this one for sure.

7. Select Die-Cut Zebra Prizm #146

Our seventh pick is a fun one, being the Select Die-Cut Zebra Prizm Joe Burrow rookie card. Luckily for the Bengals, the Zebra print actually looks quite similar to the Bengals print, so it looks like their white-out uniforms everyone loves so much. I think the only thing I wish was different is the red detailing, because it clashes with the orange. If the color was orange instead of red, this card would probably rank in my top five from this list.

6. Donruss Optic #151

Credit: eBay

The Donruss Optic is our sixth choice for Burrow’s rookie cards and has a fun glitched design in orange, white, and black to complement the Bengal’s jersey. I’m not a huge fan of the photo for this card, but I do like that the background is blurred out behind Burrow and there is not a ton of detailing. Cards that have simple details really sell the attractiveness of a card to me, and this one ranks high on my personal list.

5. Contenders Playoff Autographed #101

Credit: eBay

I mentioned this card above with the previous Contenders card, and this one is no different except for the fact that the Bengals are being featured rather than the LSU Tigers. This Contenders Joe Burrow rookie card is formulated like a playoff ticket, with holographic detailing and a signature at the bottom. These cards are entertaining to me because of the fun spin on a ticket, and that they are consistently interesting to look at.

4. Flawless #101/20

Credit: eBay

Similar to the card’s name, our fourth pick is also Flawless. Though I wish the blue detailing was a different color, I still think it contrasts nicely with the red around Burrow’s name and the orange on the uniform. Having no background on the picture also gives this card an elevated feel, like you just paid a ton of money to display it in your collection. Though this one is rather steep for pricing, it is still a “flawless” rookie card.

3. Immaculate Collection Autographed Patch #101/99

Credit: eBay

Falling into our top three Joe Burrow rookie cards list is an interesting one since it’s not really a “card” per se. The Immaculate Collection #101 is a uniform patch from Joe Burrow, rather than just a regular card. This is so fun and unique because you don’t get the same patch twice, and it immediately drives up the value of the collectible. My favorite part about this card is the outside because the tie-dye orange stripes just make the card look really sharp.

2. Prizm Silver #307

Credit: eBay

The second-to-last card on our list is the Prizm Silver #307, which I think has one of the sharpest designs on this list. The white/silver outline around the card reminds me of the Bengals’ white-out uniforms, which I absolutely love seeing. It is one of the few white-out uniforms that I enjoy in the NFL, and the Bengals wear it well. I also like that the background is not just green, but a snapshot of the Bengals stadium logo and the fans cheering behind Burrow. It just pulls the whole card together.

1. National Treasures Autographed Patch #156/99 / Joe Burrow Rookie Cards

Credit: eBay

Though this might not look like much, our number one choice for valuable Joe Burrow rookie cards is a patch of Burrow’s jersey. These go for insane prices online, and the autograph only increases the value of the “card.” I like these types of collectibles because they are all unique since you are getting different patches of the jersey, depending on which one you buy. This specific version is part of the National Treasures Collection.

If you were to pick out some of the best quarterbacks in the league, Joe Burrow would be in the conversation. Though his seasons are not completely smooth sailing, he manages to find a way to overcome obstacles and bring his team to victory, one throw at a time. If you enjoy watching Joe Burrow or just want to increase the size of your Bengals memorabilia collection, make sure to add some of these Joe Burrow rookie cards.
