How Much Is a Brett Favre Rookie Card Worth?
Rookie Cards are some of the most valuable cards that you can find for a player, especially for players like Brett Favre. As one of the most well-known football players, most collectors will want to be able to add his rookie cards to their collection.
Whether you’re a Packers fan or not, having such a prestigious player in your collection means a lot. But how much are they usually worth? Rookie cards seem to be worth a bit more than the average card, unless it’s a special edition. And for Brett Favre, a rookie card can be worth upwards to $8,000.
Brett Favre’s History
While his most successful and longest career was with the Green Bay Packers, he began with the Atlanta Falcons in 1991 as the 33rd overall pick in the NFL draft that year. He agreed to a $1.4 million contract for three years and a signing bonus of $350,000.
In 1992, the Green Bay Packers snatched up Favre and played 16 seasons with them. This is where he became the first and only NFL player to win three consecutive AP MVP awards, and helped the team get into two Super Bowls, winning the XXXI.
Favre played every single Packers game from September 20, 1992, through January 20, 2008, a streak of 253 games.

7. 1992 Stadium Club Brett Favre #683, $326
Released a year after his rookie card, the 1992 Stadium Club card is a sought-after valuable card as it marks Favre’s offseason trade to the Green Bay Packers.
It’s a bit more valuable than his rookie cards because of the limited number of prints, making it a hefty price of around $300 to $400 depending on the seller.
There has been several for sale through eBay over the years and the price has stayed the same throughout it all, making it one of the more valuable Brett Favre cards that you can come across.
6. 1994 Finest Refractor Brett Favre #124, $1,324
Even though there have been several sales over the years, this card is still a highly priced item, with most reaching upwards of $700 to $1,400.
This 1994 Finest card has a refractor finish, or a shiny, holographic finish and are generally worth more than the average card due to them being available in 1 in every 1,000 packs. They’re highly sought after, which makes them worth more than the rest.
There have been several sold through eBay over the past few years with various grades between 7 and 10. Collectors might have a chance to snatch up one of these rare cards if they get lucky enough.
5. 1999 Metal Universe Brett Favre #150 Precious Metal Gems, $2,651
The Precious Metal Gems, or PMGs, was released in 1997 as part of the larger Skybox Metal Universe set, and since then they have become some of the most iconic and sought-after cards in the hobby.
One such example is the 1999 Brett Favre #150 with the price between $1,900 and $2,600. Since there have only been 50 cards printed to date, only five have been graded, with the highest grading reaching a BGS 9, making it one of the most valuable Brett Favre cards that you can find.

4. Brett Favre Super Bowl XXVI #94, $3,382
The 1991 Stadium Club Super Bow XXVI #94 Brett Favre card is one of the more valuable cards that you can find, and some are a bit more expensive than others.
While the regular card is worth upwards to $3,000, you can find cards that are almost $4,000 due to a misspelling of Favre’s name.
Instead of Favre, you’ll notice that some cards have “Farve” on the front and back. One would assume that this would make a card less worthwhile, but several fans pay a high price to have this misprint in their collection.
3. 1997 Skybox Brett Favre Essential Credentials #13, $3,500
Another great item to have in your collection is the 1997 Brett Favre #13 Essential Credentials that has only 100 prints.
Only 6% of the cards graded have earned a 10 from PSA or BGS, making this one of Favre’s most condition sensitive cards. With a grading of 10, the card can be worth upwards of $3,838 and with a 9 grading, it can be worth over $1,100.
While it’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen a sale with a grade of 10, there have been a few grade 9 cards for sale through eBay these past few months.
2. 1991 Wild Card Draft Stripes Brett Favre #119, $9,999
Another extremely rare entry is the 1991 Wild Card Draft, which is one of the most valuable Brett Favre cards that you can find, as it’s one of Brett Favre’s rookie cards.
Over the last three years, only three have been auctioned off through eBay, with prices varying from $4,000 to $9,999, depending on the PSA grade.
There was a program in place that allows collectors to exchange parallel versions for specific number of base cards, and with six parallels in total, the 1,000-stripe parallel was the rarest, and still is today, which is one of the biggest reasons why these cards are so valuable.
1. 1997 Metal Universe Brett Favre Precious Metal Gems Green #156, $17,400
The most valuable Brett Favre card is the 1997 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems as it only has 135 copies and has recently been auctioned for over $17,000 with a PSA of 7.
Very few cards have been surfaced for grading, with the highest PSA reaching 8 so far.
Since it’s the first year that the Precious Metal Gems have been released, hopefully we will see more surfacing soon, but as of now, it’s incredibly rare and has a high value.
