Founded in 2005, Webkinz used to dominate the stuffed animal world and brought these pets to life with their digital pet versions. These online versions were known as Webkinz Classic and Next and had a secret code on the tag to download the pet into a virtual version, often becoming one of the most expensive Webkinz due to their creation date. Similar to Beanie Babies, each plush comes with specific details about themselves, including a favorite food and play item.
Nowadays, these virtual plushies are a thing of the past, along with their real-life counterparts. After the company took a mid-2010s hiatus and a change in direction, some of the original Webkinz have soared in value. 5. Arctic Fox, $600
Our fifth most expensive Webkinz is the Arctic Fox, first released in April 2009 making it one of the oldest on this list. The fox is covered in fluffy white fur, with a black mouth and nose. As each plushy carries its own “signature” item, the Arctic Fox has the Frozen Tundra Treadmill and a pet food of Winter Snow Crepes. Though the plushie was never retired, it remains as an exclusive Webkinz for collectors, bringing in around $600.

4. Signature Australian Shepherd, $675
Released in May 2011 is our fourth most expensive Webkinz, the Signature Australian Shepherd. This stuffed toy does not have a Lil’Kinz version but is not yet retired. The shepherd has gray-white hair with a brown muzzle and brown eyebrows. Since it is a “Signature” Webkinz, it is a higher-quality stuffed animal, lending to the selling price of $675. The Signature Australian Shepherd enjoys Rancher’s Roast Beef and has the Country Sensation Stage as its special item.
3. 10 Year Magic W Pup, $680
Celebrating Webkinz’s 10th anniversary in April 2015 is our third selection, the 10-Year Magic W Pup. This stuffed toy was part of GANZ’s update to Webkinz in 2015 to make them more kid-friendly with Webkinz X, covered in blue fur with the Webkinz logo printed on both ears. Though it has never won Pet of the Month, the collectible now sells in auctions for as much as $680. Its special food is the Magic W Ice Pop, and has several special items including the Happy 10 Years Bed and Wallpaper.

2. Narwhal, $700+
Splashing into the second most expensive Webkinz spot is the Narwhal, released in December 2018. Not to be confused with the virtual version, this Narwhal has no Lil’Kinz version and often sells online for $700 or more due to its uniqueness and low production numbers. The Narwhal won Pet of the Month in December 2020 and has a favorite food of flatfish fritters and a special item of a Narwhal ice sculpture.

1. Cheeky Dog, $1,800
Last but certainly not least on our list is our most expensive Webkinz, the Cheeky Dog. Not to be confused with the Blueberry Cheeky Dog, the original Cheeky Dog was released in May 2005, not long after the company was created. It was one of the first Webkinz to retire from circulation alongside the Cheeky Cat. The dog is covered in curly brown fur, a signature piece of the “Cheeky” series, and pulls in around $1,800 at auctions. The signature food for the Cheeky Dog is Berried Bone Bonbons, and has a signature item of the Cheeky Dog Grill.
