While New York City may be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the richest towns or cities, there are plenty of other rich towns in The Empire State that you may not expect. Some may be close to the city while others stretch up near the Capital Region, but needless to say, these are the ten richest towns in New York, based on their median household income.
10. Greenville
Our twelfth selection for the richest towns in New York is also the northernmost town on the list. Greenville is on the border of Green County in Upstate New York, home to around 9,500 residents. A lot of New York City residents come up to Greenville to escape and enjoy a calmer atmosphere. Even though it is one of the wealthiest areas in upstate, it is still relatively affordable.

The other richest town in Nassau County is East Hills, ranking at number four on our list. Along with being next to Old Westbury, East Hills is close to our number three choice Flower Hill. The affluent town is 25 miles east of New York City with a population of around 7,250 people. Many wealthy families and commuters live in East Hills, taking advantage of several attractions in the town.

3. Flower Hill
