The Sakurao Japanese Dry Gin is made from the best ingredients in Hiroshima, creating a blend of aromas. These include lemon, yuzu, Japanese cypress, and oyster shells. Another unique aspect about the Sakurao Gin is that it contains cherry blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese.

11. Buton Dry Gin, $213
The eleventh most expensive gin is quite rare, and often only pops up in auctions to purchase. Buton’s Dry Gin was produced in the Distillerie Buton in Bologna, Italy, and many of the bottles sold today were packaged in the 1950s and 1960s. These days, it’s price has steadily increased due to the rarity of the gin on the market, and the quality that was produced during that time.

10. Gin Sul Fogo do Sul Spicy Goa Dry Gin, $228
Gin Sul appears twice on our most expensive gin list, with their first gin being Fogo do Sul. Also known as “the fire of the south” this spirit takes a combination of Portuguese influences and Hamburg craftsmanship to create a unique blend. The distillers take coriander, cardamom, and cinnamon and macerates it with fresh mango, roasted cumin, chili, fresh ginger, and hot timut pepper to make Fogo do Sul.
9. Gin Sul Limão do Sul Dry Gin, $231
Following the first Gin Sul selection is the Limão do Sul, which means Lemon of the South in German. This special edition is distilled with fresh lemons from Senhor António in Portugal, mixed with organic juniper berries, lemon balm, basil, lemon thyme, kaffir lime leaves, and lemon verbena. Only 6,000 bottles were made and almost immediately sold out, leaving fans searching auction sites for the bottle to appear again.

8. Cambridge Distillery Anty Gin, $250
If bugs are not your thing, you might want to skip our eighth most expensive gin selection. From Cambridge Distillery, the Anty Gin name alludes to which insect is used in the liquor. After the gin is distilled it is blended with the essence of sixty-two wood ants which provide a tangy, citrus taste to an already spicy and woody flavor. This gin is a conversation starter for sure.

7. Sarti Dry Gin, $253
Another gin from the past is our seventh selection, also known as Sarti Dry Gin. The label of the spirit is unforgettable, with a bright red bulldog in the center and a crown at the top. This gin was made for the Italian market in Bologna sometime during the 1950s.
6. Thames Distillers Fifty Pounds Aged Gin, $259
Made by Thames Distillers, our seventh most expensive gin is the Fifty Pounds gin. Each single batch is distilled in small quantities, bringing citrus and juniper flavors to your mouth, along with aromas of violet, juniper, and spice. The Fifty Pounds gin got its name from the era of George II and the 1736 Gin Act, which incurred a 50 pound tax on those wishing to produce and sell gin.

5. Ki Noh Bi Kyoto Cask Aged Gin, $346
Dipping into the fifth spot of our most expensive gin list is the Ki Noh Bi Kyoto Dry Gin. The Ki Noh Bi is a cask-aged version of the classic Ki No Bi gin. The gin is filled into a cask at high strength and monitored to ensure a balance between botanical flavors and essence from the wood it is sealed in. The Ki Noh Bi is bottled with Fushimi water after dilution.

4. Adler KPM Edition Berlin Dry Gin, $387
Our next expensive gin is from the Berlin Adler distillery. The KPM Edition is stored for six months while a blend of botanicals is macerated in the alcohol. Included is juniper, master root, angelica seeds, orange blossoms, hop dolphins elecampane root, muskrat seeds, and bertram root. After the first distilling the gin is placed in a vacuum distillation and filled into porcelain bottles.
3. Nolet’s Reserve Gin, $700
Our third most expensive gin is the Nolet’s Reserve gin, which is the personal creation of Carolus Nolet Sr., the 10th generation distillery owner. Each year certain bottles are allocated, numbered by hand, and presented in a flashy gold box. It only makes sense that this limited edition gin would cost $700, and is bottled at 52.3% volume.

2. Cambridge Distillery Watenshi The Japanese Angel Gin, $2,804
We have finally reached our number two most expensive gin with Cambridge Distillery’s Watenshi, also called “the world’s most exclusive gin.” Watenshi is the “angel’s share” of gin — the fraction of spirit that escapes during distillation. Using a technique that combines atmospheric pressure and low temperatures, Cambridge Distillery has managed to preserve that “angel’s share” and bottle it. Each bottle of Watenshi is made from almost fifty distillations of their famous Japanese gin.
1. Morus LXIV Gin, $4,634
Finally, our most expensive gin is the Morus LXIV, which comes in a hand-made, hand-polished, diamond matte-finish porcelain container. The gin inside of the porcelain is distilled from the leaves of a 100-year-old Mulberry tree and takes two years to produce. The taste is a unique blend of juniper, citrus, sweet wood, tree bark, leafy vegetation, and spices. Definitely worth it’s price tag of over $4,500.
