12 Weird Kitchen Gadgets You Didn’t Know Existed
We all have the typical kitchen appliances like a fridge, knives, measuring spoons, and toasters. But did you know that there are other types of gadgets out there? If you want to add some character to your kitchen or just explore something new, here are twelve examples of weird kitchen gadgets that are useful and unique at the same time.
12. Penguin Fridge Deodorizer
The first weird kitchen gadget on our list is also known as “Chill Bill.” This silicone and plastic penguin helps out both your fridge and freezer when you fill it with baking soda. Baking soda is a natural deodorizer and can help with those unpleasant smells in your fridge. The penguin design is just a bonus; who wouldn’t want a penguin to keep their fridge smelling fresh?
11. USA Ice Mold
If you happen to live in the United States, this weird ice mold is a perfect way to show patriotism. Including even Alaska and Hawaii, all fifty states are represented on this silicone ice mold. Nowadays there are lots of shaped molds like roses or leaves, but only this mold represents a country. Can I have the Texas and Colorado ice, please?

10. Onion Goggles
Whenever I’m cutting onions, tears usually follow. Our next kitchen gadget would be able to help with those onion fumes and keep your eyes nice and dry. These onion goggles are almost like normal glasses except for the foam backing that seals off your eyes from any irritants. You may look a little funny preparing dinner, but not having to wipe away tears is a huge plus.
9. Microwave Egg Boiler
Most people make hard-boiled or deviled eggs for parties, boiling up to two dozen eggs in a huge pot. What if you only want four eggs? Instead of grabbing out the huge pot, you can grab this egg-shaped pod that can boil your eggs in the microwave. This weird gadget is both a conversation starter and an easy way to boil a few eggs for lunch.

8. Bear Claw Meat Shredder
This next gadget is extremely useful, based on personal experience. These tools may seem weird, but the “bear paws” are used to shred meat. They can be used to create shredded chicken, pulled pork, or several other dishes that require shredded meat. These have been featured on shows like BBQ Pitmasters and Guy Fieris Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

7. Hot Dog & Bun Toaster
Our seventh-weirdest gadget is both odd and interesting at the same time. Hot dogs are a great barbecue meal, but sometimes you want the bun toasted too. This toaster puts everything in one spot, with sections for toasting hot dogs and buns and tongs to take them out. This is the most unique toaster I’ve ever seen.
6. Fish-Shaped Yolk Separator
Trying to separate the yolk from the egg white using the shell can be difficult, especially when the sharp shell breaks the yolk. A solution to the problem is the Yolkfish, a silicone orange fish that sucks the yolk right out of the egg white. It’s quite goofy-looking but gets the job done, and can be a conversation starter while cooking a meal.

5. Microwave Bacon Rack
Our fifth weird kitchen gadget also goes in the microwave, but instead of boiling eggs, it is cooking bacon. I usually don’t see people cooking bacon in their microwave, but these racks make it simple and collect all of the stubborn grease. You can even buy a standing bacon tray where the pieces of bacon are draped over poles. Dorm room bacon anyone?

4. One-Click Stick Butter Cutter
Usually, butter is placed in a glass dish and passed around the table with a knife. Our fourth weird kitchen gadget presents another solution to getting your slab of butter. The One-Click butter cutter is a handheld device that slices butter right onto your food with the press of a button. These don’t work for all sticks of butter though (such as the sticks in California, Oregon, or Washington).
3. Corn Peeler
Eating corn on the cob can be annoying with kernels getting stuck in your teeth or smeared across your cheeks. But getting the kernels off of the cob can be equally as annoying, so there must be a solution. Enter our third weirdest kitchen gadget, the corn peeler. This contraption is similar to any core peeler, taking the kernels off of the cob with a metal ring in the center.

2. Egg Cuber
Our second weirdest kitchen gadget has no real usefulness, rather it is more for aesthetics. After boiling your eggs in the microwave boiler, you can peel and place them into the egg cuber. This plastic cube shapes the pliable egg white into a square and gives a new shape to the formerly round egg. This gadget is just plain odd to me.

1. Carrot Peeler & Sharpener
The last item on our weird kitchen gadgets list is the carrot peeler and sharpener. From Karoto, the device looks just like a pencil sharpener and “peels, sharpens, and curls vegetables.” I have no idea why you would want to sharpen your carrot, or just use a regular peeler instead, but this last item is quite funny to look at. It’s not every day that you see a “pencil sharpener” being used for a carrot.
