SHE-HULK: As in fashion, literature, movies, and TV, there are trends:

For example: over the last decade, the genre called “young adult” has dominated. Stories of teenagehood, of adventures bigger than oneself, and pitching a teen’s journey of growth…

This trend is fading. But one trend that never-ends is cine-comic.

The rebirth of this once troubled subgenre started with Iron Man and grew through the impressive Marvel Cinematic Universe. And now this superhero phenomenon is blasting onto TV screens once again (after a dalliance with Netflix with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, et al).

The latest TV show to be announced by Marvel is to be based on She-Hulk.

What do we know about She-Hulk’s origins?

ORIGIN: Created by Stan Lee and the designer John Buscema in 1980, She-Hulk was initially conceived as a character targeting a growing female audience interested in comics books.

ALTER EGO: When not green and angry, She-Hulk is a brilliant lawyer named Jennifer Susan Walters.

PARTY UP: The character never became part of The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, or The Heroes for Hire. However, the character became famous thanks to a series of solo stories written and designed by John Byrne, titled Sensational She-Hulk.

STORY: The protagonist of the Sensational She-Hulk is Bruce Banner’s cousin. When that girl is shot, her cousin gives her a blood transfusion and turns her into a green creature, who looks like Hulk.

POWERS: The character possesses the same powers as the Hulk.
