Where Are the Largest Gold Deposits in the World
Gold is a valuable material that we use for a variety of things from jewelry to decorations. Gold is also a form of currency that has withstood the test of time for decades. But like most materials, it takes hard work and dedication to extract it from the earth, which leaves us with finding out the locations for the largest gold deposits in the world.
Gold deposits, or gold mining, have been around for centuries, and while several mines are no longer in use for gold mining, some mines have large deposits that are still going on to this day. So where exactly are the largest gold deposits in the world?

1. Nevada Gold Mines
The number one largest gold deposit in the world goes to a deposit in the United States. Nevada Gold Mines was formed in 2019 and was a joint venture between two of the largest gold miners — Barrick Gold and Newmont — through the combination of their significant gold mining assets across northern Nevada.
The assets include 10 underground mines and 12 surface mines as well as related facilities. While a new operation, that hasn’t dampened just how amazing this mine is. There are currently seven mining operations within the Gold Mines in Nevada including Carlin, Cortez, Long Canyon, Twin Creeks, and more. Currently, the min produces the most gold, averaging at around 3.3 million ounces annually, making it the largest deposit in the world.
