Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared a screenshot of his digital avatar standing in front of the famous Eiffel Tower. This was a post aimed at announcing the launch of Horizon Worlds in France and Spain. However, the internet was not amazed by the quality of graphics of his digital avatar. Some people went to compare the graphics of his avatar to the PlayStation One’s Teletubbies game.
In one of the comments on his earlier post, the Meta CEO said, “I know the photo I posted earlier this week was pretty basic — it was taken very quickly to celebrate a launch. The graphics in Horizon are capable of much more — even on headsets.” In response to the critics, Mark Zuckerberg shared a better version of his digital avatar in a post he made on Facebook this Friday.

In the new post, he also added a caption saying, “we’re launching Horizon Worlds in France and Spain today! Looking forward to seeing people explore and build immersive worlds and to bringing this to more countries soon.”
Meta’s Horizon Worlds Platform Continues To Roll Out
Of course, Zuckerberg’s avatar memes are secondary to the actual announcement he was putting across. The real news is that Meta’s Horizon Worlds platform is now available to more European users. The platform has been known to US and Canadian users since last year. Meta also later launched the platforms to users U.K, Ireland, and Iceland earlier this year.
The launch in France and Spain will allow more European users to access the platform as Meta seeks to increase the platform’s availability in the region by the end of 2023. For those who might not know, Horizon World is Meta’s VR platform that allows users to experience virtual worlds in which a configurable avatar represents them.

Experiencing virtual worlds in Horizon Worlds requires you to use Meta’s VR headset, the Meta Quest 2. However, Meta is also building a web version of Horizon Worlds that won’t require users to have VR headsets to access the platform.
