More Than A Notebook

The ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 15 UX582 is more than just an ordinary notebook – it is a workstation that contains a 15.6” OLED 4K touchscreen paired with a secondary touchscreen 14” IPS display for productivity.

Mainly, this laptop is focused on professionals and content creators, but with its 4K juice, anyone can enjoy watching movies and playing games as well.

Moreover, the UX582 is an updated version of the UX581, which was the best dual-screen laptop by ASUS. It’s relatively costlier than its predecessor, but it’s worth the money. Because programs and actions are limited on the UX581, UX582 enables you to play games, manage your design projects and do more.

Performance

When it comes to performance, the ASUS Workstation boasts a 10th Generation Intel Core i9-10980HK CPU. It’s a mobile-based processor from the Comet Lake family. Further, the CPU has 8 computing cores which enables you to run programs quickly, while its 16 physical threads are there to switch between applications efficiently.

You can overclock this CPU up to an insane 5.30 GHz with Intel smart application; however, its base frequency of 2.40 GHz is more than enough to run the Adobe suite and beyond. While talking about the CPU, we can’t skip cache memory because its 16 MB smart cache is super responsive when doing heavy lifting.

As for the high-intensity work, the brand includes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. However, the mobile version of the RTX 3070 doesn’t offer the same performance as the desktop version. Yet, when you take a 220W desktop GPU and turn it into an 80-125W one, some things have to give.

The GPU contains GA104 silicon and 5120 CUDA cores to boost gaming. Similarly, it has a 780 MHz base clock speed, which can be boosted up to 1620 MHz, and the tensor flow, AI, and RTX cores are also helpful for quick renders and people who love to create characters in Blender or Maya.

Memory (RAM + SSD)

The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582 features fast dual channel 16 GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2933 MHz. It’s a higher frequency RAM, which helps to speed up your workflow. You can also upgrade the memory if you’re going for machine learning or want to tackle AI-based development.

Another thing to notice is the storage. In this era, no one downloads movies due to streaming platforms, but this is just more than an entertainment laptop. Therefore, ASUS includes 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD to store and transfer data quickly. And you know what, SSD in place of HDD also increases the battery timing of a laptop.

Display and Battery Timing

ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED includes the tiling ScreenPad Plus, a secondary touchscreen that automatically tilts up by 9.5°, creating an angle of 144.5° between the main display and ScreenPad Plus for more comfortable viewing. You can enjoy seamless visuals across both displays with easy multitasking.

Well, Workstations don’t have a huge battery life like the HP high-end models with 20 hours. That being said, the ASUS ZenBook Pro DUO UX582 can only last about 5 hours at low settings. However, if you want to make the most out of it, the battery won’t last more than 3 hours.
