Starbucks is currently the world’s largest coffeehouse chain in the world. They have more than 38,000 stores and are still growing. It’s also quite pricey. While the coffee chain considers itself to be an affordable luxury brand, it’s still a luxury for many.

Even with them bringing in roughly $8 billion, they still raise the prices of their drinks, and even raise the reward point requirements for free drinks and food items. But that hasn’t stopped Starbucks enthusiasts from creating some of the most expensive Starbucks drinks anyone has ever seen. If you want to explore these mad creations, then keep reading.

What’s the Most Expensive Starbucks Drink on the Menu?

As mentioned, Starbucks can be a pricey venture. While they do have drip coffee ranging from $2 to $4, however, if you’re like me and enjoy something a bit sweeter, you’ll want to opt for their specialty drinks.

While these prices vary depending on the area that you live in, the most expensive Starbucks drink that can be found on the menu at some point is their Hocus Pocus Frap. While it’s not around all year, and might not even be around at your specific location, you might be able to have it made from Starbucks’ secret menu. Three flavors are for each specific character and cost around $13.50.

Another option, if you’re not a fan of the secret menu, is their simple Mocha Cookie Crumble frap. The venti size costs around $8.75 depending on locations, so if you add one more shot of espresso, then you’ve surpassed the $10 mark. The drink is delicious and sweet, with a sip tasting just like cookies.

The Most Expensive Starbucks Drink Challenge

Believe it or not, Starbucks is aware of this challenge to get the most expensive drinks and actually put rules in place to prevent this challenge. Now, most places won’t let you customize a lot and will prevent you from spending more than $20 on a drink. They don’t want to waste time, or product, on something that you might not drink, or might not even be able to pay for.

A lot of stores won’t even accept a container larger than their 31-ounce Trenta size. And you can’t get a blended or espresso drink that’s over 24 ounces anymore. So while you can customize your drink, substitute the milk, or add some syrup, a lot of customizations aren’t allowed.

However, you might get lucky and find that one employee or store that has some time on their hands to accommodate your request.

Tips for Making an Expensive Drink

Most of us hate the fact that our customized drink order is over $8, but if you want some tips to really raise that price tag, then look no further. If you find a willing Starbucks location ready for your order, try these helpful tips:

  • Change out the milk to oat, almond, coconut, or soy.
  • Add additional espresso shots (you should not ingest more than 400 milligrams, however)
  • Add sauces and syrups
  • Add chocolate or vanilla powder
  • Add their Partanna olive oil
  • Add cold foam

6. Caramel Frappuccino

Caramel frappuccinos are sweet and delicious, but when you add 100 shots in one, it might be an overkill. This large frap is in a huge class that also contains whole milk, caramel syrup, extra ice, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle.

It’s a coffee-lovers heaven just looking at it, but the price at $86.55 might make you reconsider. Even with its humongous size and price tag, it’s only number six on the list of most expensive Starbucks drinks.

5. Quad Espresso

A Quad Espresso, which means four shots, gives you a nice boost to get through the day. But Kiersten Vorv and Shaine Choen went above and beyond in hopes of creating one of the most expensive Starbucks drinks. A quad shot began at only $3 but soon rose to $92.55 after adding an extra 116 shots, for a total of 120 shots of espresso.

These White Mocha Frappuccinos are delicious, but Justin figured he could use it as a starting point to create the most expensive Starbucks drink ever.

The drink consists of 112 espresso shots (or 7,245 milligrams of caffeine), along with 54 pumps of Frappuccino roast, 70 pumps of white mocha, 4 pumps of caramel, 20 bumps of protein powder, 5 bananas, and frappuccino chips. As you’ll see here soon, he tried to beat the previous record with a white mocha, but couldn’t succeed.

3. Thomas’ White Mocha Frappuccino

Another contender for the most expensive Starbucks drink also used a White Mocha frappuccino as a starting point.

The drink cost $102.4 and included 102 shots of espresso along with 54 pumps of Frappuccino roast, 4 pumps of caramel syrup, 70 pumps of white mocha, 5 whole bananas, 20 scoops of protein powder (around 5 tablespoons), and mocha and caramel drizzle to top it off. Still the reigning champ of the White Mocha frap battle.

2. Café Americano

Coming in second on the list of most expensive Starbucks drinks is this Café Americano made by Elton Castee. Castee used to be one of the most famous creators on Vine and YouTube and is best known for his channel TFIL which started in 2011.

He’s known for doing outrageous, adrenaline-rushing activities. And one consists of the thrill of spending, by creating an Americano for $102.15. His order contained 104 shots of espresso, which is roughly 6,552 milligrams of caffeine.

1. Super Venti Flat White

Superfan William Lewis Jr. managed to create the world’s most expensive Starbucks drink we’ve seen yet. He purchased a Super Venti Flat White, which is a 240-ounce coffee drink that costs a total of $148.99.

The drink is a standard Venti Flat White but with an additional 170 shots of espresso, made with coconut milk. The drink contained roughly 11,0000 milligrams of caffeine, which is three times more than what is considered safe to consume.
