7. Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday Mr. President” Dress, $4.8 million
Most recently worn by Kim Kardashian at the 2022 Met Gala, Marilyn Monroe’s iconic “Happy Birthday” dress was worn by her on President John F. Kennedy’s birthday. She wore the dress while singing “Happy Birthday” to the President, and the dress later became one of the most expensive dresses sold at auction for $4.8 million in 2016. Known for creating priceless dresses, one of Yumi Katsura‘s most daring gowns was created in 2006. The White Gold Diamond dress is draped in more than 1,000 pearls, and luxe fabrics. To top it off a five-carat white gold diamond and an 8.8-carat green diamond adorn the waist. The dress is one of the Japanese designer’s most beautiful gowns.
5. Queen Letizia’s Royal Wedding Dress, $10.7 million
Our fifth most expensive dress comes from royalty in the form of Queen Letizia of Spain’s silk wedding dress. With hand-sewn floral designs made of gold thread, the dress was valued at $10.7 million in 2004 and is listed as the most expensive royal wedding dress ever made by the Guinness Book of World Records.

4. Hany El Behairy Wedding Dress, $15 million
One of the most bejeweled dresses on our list is Hany El Behairy‘s Wedding Dress, adorned with hundreds of diamonds and valuable stones. The dress has a star-patterned veil and elaborate torso, presented during Paris Haute Couture Week 2020. Hany El Behairy is an Egyptian fashion designer famous for creating pricey gowns, with this one going to an affluent Egyptian family.
3. Red Diamond Abaya, $16 million
If you want to see extravagance in every thread, then British designer Debbie Wingham‘s Red Diamond Abaya dress would be the perfect answer. Along with a perfect red diamond, the dress is set with two thousand other valuable stones including 50 perfect two-carat white diamonds, 50 perfect two-carat black diamonds, and several pointer diamonds. The best part? Almost every inch of the creation is hand-stitched with 14-carat white gold thread.
2. Martin Katz & Renée Strauss Wedding Dress, $16.2 million
Famed couturier Renée Strauss and celebrity jeweler Martin Katz came together in 2006 to create our second most expensive gown. The duo threaded the gown with 150 carats worth of diamonds, scattered across the bodice area and draped with layers of white fabric. The dress was presented to stunned onlookers at the Ritz-Carlton in California and is worth $16.2 million.

1. The Nightingale of Kuala Lumpur, $30 million
Out of all the most expensive dresses on our list, the Nightingale of Kuala Lumpur takes the cake, valued at $30 million. Released in 2009, the dress was designed by Faisal Abdullah and is made of crimson silk and taffeta, with over 750 diamonds sewn into it. If over 700 diamonds aren’t enough, there is also a 70-carat diamond at its center.
