Samsung’s New Galaxy Z Fold 4 And Flip 4 Bring Crucial Improvements

Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, August 10, where they released their fourth generation of foldable devices. Despite having similar external designs as the previous models, the new Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 have a couple of crucial improvements that make them a worthy update.

Z Flip 4 Improvement
The major improvement for the Z Flip 4 was its new bigger battery. Samsung managed to cram this bigger battery into the Flip 4, thanks to the extra space created by the more compact hinge design. The Flip 4’s battery is almost 10% bigger than the battery in the Flip 3 (3300mah vs. 3700mah). This bigger battery combined with the much more efficient Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 chip could significantly improve the battery life of this device.
The Flip 4 also got a much stronger Gorilla Glass Victus+ front that will slightly improve the shutter and scratch resistance of the screen. Samsung also claims to have improved the hinge durability for both models. Both devices also have slightly smaller screen bezels than the last generations.

Z Fold 4 Improvements
Unlike the Flip 4, the Fold 4 has the same battery as last year’s model. The only noticeable improvement is the smaller bezels on the front screen, which has resulted in a slightly wider screen than the previous generation. The Z Fold 4’s under the display selfie camera on the inside screen is also less visible than the last gen version.
This new Fold also has a redesigned dock that remains visible even when you open other apps. This software feature is currently exclusive to the Z Fold 4. The Z Fold 4 is also slightly thinner and lighter than the previous gen. Like the Z Flip, the fold also comes with the stronger Gorilla Glass Victus+ front glass.
