The VHS came out in 1990, and the first editions of this are especially rare since they still contain the original recordings of some of the songs.

5. Cinderella, $25k

Fifth on our list of rare Disney VHS tapes is Cinderella. One of the original Princesses, Cinderella, is a young girl used as a servant by her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. The film features iconic songs like “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and “So This Is Love.” A Black Diamond version of this VHS sells for around $25,000, but the condition of the tape often drives the price up for this tape.
4. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, $26k

Next on our list of rare Disney VHS tapes is Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The first animated feature film for Disney, the fairy tale follows Snow White as she flees the wrath of her stepmother, the Queen. She finds a home instead with seven dwarf miners. One edition of the VHS tape is listed at $26,000 on eBay, ranking so high because it was part of the limited-edition Walt Disney’s Masterpiece collection.

3. The Little Mermaid, $33.2k

Rounding out the top three rare VHS tapes is The Little Mermaid. Featuring unforgettable characters and great music, the film follows an adventurous young mermaid princess who falls in love with a human prince. Songs you may remember from the film include “Under the Sea” and “Kiss the Girl.” The highest-priced tape selling on eBay is $33,200. The tape is often a treasure in collectors’ eyes because of the Black Diamond collections and the early editions with inappropriate imagery that were recalled.

Last but not least, on our list of the rare Disney VHS tapes is not even an animated film. The behind-the-scenes feature, Marking the Millennium, showcases the event of the same name at Walt Disney World and Epcot. The video provides interviews with the minds behind the celebration. The VHS tape is listed on eBay for $45,000 as brand new. It is incredibly rare in part because it was only sold at the Epcot Center.
