4. William Roscoe Tropical Plant

3. Basilius Besler Cottage Flowers

2. Basilius Besler Flowering Iris

Another one of Besler’s works is this $5,175 piece on a flowering iris, along with other botanicals, that was framed in the 17th century. Titled I. Spatula foetida – II. Caucalis Dodonei – III. Cruciata, the print depicts three flowering plants, including an Iris, from Besler’s landmark work.

Last, but certainly not least, on the list of rare botanical prints is this 18th-century engraving set by P.J. Buchoz from 1776, which is worth a whopping $9,600 according to 1st Dibs auction house.
