The story of Kim Kardashian’s auction battle to win her late father’s Holy Bible continues.

The most recent coverage comes from Parade, reporting on what Kim said during an episode of Khloé Kardashian’s Khloé In Wonder Land podcast as of Wednesday, January 28.

What we now know is that after a marathon online auction tied to O.J. Simpson’s estate, Kardashian ended up paying more than $80,000 to bring a deeply personal book back into her family.

The Bible included her father’s handwritten notes.

The bidding didn’t just get competitive, it dragged on for over 12 hours, with anonymous bidders refusing to quit. Kardashian said the clock kept resetting. Every new bid added another 30 minutes, and the fight just kept going.

I’ve followed celebrity memorabilia for years, and I’m usually unfazed by big numbers. This one was different, because it’s not a movie prop or a red-carpet dress. It’s grief turned into a public price tag.

The Bible in question was given to O.J. Simpson by Kardashian Sr. in 1994, when the actor was arrested and tried for the killings of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

People Magazine found that the Bible included a personal inscription and message. It later surfaced as one of the estate items being sold.

Before the public auction, Kardashian tried to buy the Bible privately for $15,000, but the estate said no. According to Page Six, the item was already under contract for auction, and the estate needed a higher return to help cover debts and other expenses tied to the estate process.

Leaked emails about Kim’s attempt to buy pre-auction sparked interest.

On Khloé in Wonder Land, hosted by Khloé Kardashian, Kardashian described the auction as 12 straight hours of back-and-forth, with a 30-minute extension rule. As Kardashian put it, they wouldn’t let up.

At one point she even wondered if her own sister might be bidding against her, because that kind of mix-up happens.

Once she had won the item, Kim gave the Bible to Khloé, turning an exhausting public tug-of-war into a private family moment.

E! News reported that the Bible sold for $65,800, which is $80,276 with the buyer’s premium.

The sale closed on March 29, 2025, even though a lot of fans didn’t connect Kardashian to the winning bid until much later.
