You might not believe this, but there are still treasures to be found in new Pokémon packs. Granted, the savvy collector will opt for buying singles, where they can pick up what they want at the price they want to pay. However, for some thrill-seekers, the magic is in the opening.

These five rare Pokémon cards are still tied to modern sealed products, and collectors keep hunting them for the art, scarcity, and value potential.

Umbreon ex Special Illustration Rare, Prismatic Evolutions

Umbreon ex Special Illustration Rare 161/131 is the moonlit monster from Scarlet & Violet, Prismatic Evolutions. It was released in January 2025 and is found in Prismatic Evolutions booster packs, including six-pack Booster Bundles.

The Pokémon Center lists that bundle at $26.94, about $4.49 per pack at MSRP, though resale bundles have recently sold closer to $70 to $82.

Bleeding Cool reported that the card was valued at $1,195.57 in March 2026, after it had previously dipped below $1,000. That’s serious value for a card you can still chase in packs today.

Collectors want tight centering, sharp corners, clean texture, and no surface scratches in their rare Pokémon cards. This is because PSA notes that Gem Mint cards need strong centering, sharp corners, full gloss, and minimal flaws.

Charizard ex Special Illustration Rare, Scarlet & Violet 151

The Charizard ex Special Illustration Rare 199/165 card was one of the hot chases across the Scarlet & Violet 151 set. It launched in English in September 2023, and it’s packed with the original Kanto lineup.

According to the Pokémon Center, the 151 Booster Bundle was $26.94 for six packs. This works out to around $4.49 per pack at MSRP. However, that price has shot up; according to PriceCharting, sealed bundles can now hit around $160.

Bleeding Cool reported that this Charizard card can sell for around $415.94 as of March 2026.

Collectors on the hunt for this card look for a clean holofoil, strong centering, no edge whitening, and PSA 10 copies.

Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare, Surging Sparks

The English version of this Pikachu card was released as part of the Surging Sparks booster pack set in late 2024.

The Pokémon Center reports that a 36-pack booster display box can cost around $161.64. This is roughly $4.49 per pack at MSRP. However, some resellers have sold these boxes for over $200, which shows that they’re coveted and getting more scarce.

Coverage from Bleeding Cool puts this Pikachu card value at around $262.77. Interestingly, TCGplayer’s pull-rate stats give you a 0.10% chance of finding this specific Pikachu card per pack. Those are small odds, but expected for what is a chase card.

Collectors look for centered borders, a clean, bright foil, and no corner dings.

Sylveon ex Special Illustration Rare, Prismatic Evolutions

Sylveon ex Special Illustration Rare, Prismatic Evolutions

This Sylveon chase card can be found in the early 2025 Prismatic Evolutions, Eevee-focused special expansion booster packs. A six-pack bundle can cost upwards of $26.94 at MSRP. However, like with other packs with chase cards, resellers buying up bundles can push that price much higher.

This card, according to Bleeding Cool, is worth around $296.96. However, be warned: as this card has pale artwork, the value can be massively impacted by even faint print lines and scratches.

When it comes to this card, collectors prefer bold color, strong centering, and clean details.

The last card on this list is the Leafeon ex Special Illustration Rare 144/131. This card was part of the Prismatic Evolutions run that launched in early 2025. It can be found in the same booster packs as Umbreon and Sylveon on this list.

The Pokémon Center shows that a six-pack bundle can cost upwards of $26.94 at MSRP, but PriceCharting shows recent sealed bundle sales much closer to $82.

Bleeding Cool reports that this card has a value of $247.80. A price point that makes it one of the top cards to chase in the Prismatic Evolutions set.

As this is a forest-themed card, collectors want a clean green foil, strong contrast, centered borders, and no whitening on the back edges.

As completionists continue to chase a full Eeveelution set, it helps keep demand alive for this and other cards on the list.
