Collect-A-Con is the nation’s largest trading card, anime, and pop culture convention. There are over 500 plus vendors that could be selling anything from sports cards, comic books, vintage toys, video games, Funko POP, Pokémon, and so much more. There will be 26 special guest that consists of not only voice actors from Roger Craig Smith who is Sonic, and Charles Martinet voice of Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi. The big event will be a live performance by Vanilla Ice.

There are a few things you should know about the Collect-A-Con. I want you to be as prepared as ever when going.

When and Where?

Collect-A-Con is on August 20-21 from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. It is going to be located at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Here is the address of the convention center: 300 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, California, 90802.

How much are the tickets?

If you are looking to purchase tickets, this is what you need to know. There is free admission for children that are seven and under. You will have a few ticket options depending on what day you are wanting to attend. Saturday tickets are costing $30, while Sunday tickets are costing $25, and if you are wanting to attend both days the two-day pass is $45. The two-day pass includes the Vanilla Ice concert, while if you’re just doing either Saturday or Sunday, they are just general admission tickets that don’t include the concert. The VIP fast passes and the Vanilla Ice backstage VIP passes are unfortunately all sold out. I know it stinks but trusts me with all the vendors going and special guests you’re going to enjoy yourself.

Who are the Special Guests?

Here is a list of the few actors that will be at the Collect-A-Con at Long Beach.

  • Johnny Yong Bosch
  • Leah Clark
  • Walter E. Jones
  • Sarah Natochenny
  • Colleen O’Shaughnessy
  • Jason Paige
  • Sean Schemmel
  • Erica Schroeder

There will be many more that will be making an appearance at Collect-A-Con. They will be doing autographs and meet and greets at the convention. For meet and greets, those tickets are not being sold anymore online. Sometimes they have a few openings left for meet and greets and will be available to purchase at the convention, but it doesn’t happen often. As for autographs, there is usually a place where they will have people start to form a line, autographs tend to happen after the meet and greets.

How much is Parking?

Given that this convention is the nation’s largest, parking will most likely be a little hectic. Which is expected all the time at conventions and concerts. You should know when you arrive that the parking fee will be $15. I’m sure they will have specific parking if you are wanting to park closer to the building. That will of course be more, but it is not posted online how much it will be. If you are thinking of that option, I would plan ahead to have more money for parking.

What to do with my purchases?

The last time I went to a convention, I regretted not bringing a backpack or bag where I could put any of the stuff I bought. If you are planning on buying anything at Collect-A-Con, I would bring something that will hold the majority of what you’re buying. I had a backpack and a reusable shopping bag. I put the shopping bag in my backpack, so I didn’t have to carry it till I needed it. Some vendors have their own bags that they will pack up what you bought, but it is just easier and more convenient to have your own bags that can hold more. If you are not quite sure that you will be purchasing anything or not sure how much you are going to buy, it’s always better to plan ahead. You will be security checked before going into the convention, so make sure you check the bags you are using and empty them out before to be on the safe side, in case you had forgotten what was in there from previously using.
